Zuccarello Misses Practice With Injured Hand

And the injuries continue to pile up for the New York Rangers at the Olympics as reports from Norway (H/T reader Eivind F.) state that Mats Zuccarello injured his right hand blocking a shot in Norway's 3-1 loss to Austria yesterday.

Zuccarello was able to finish the game, however, he did sit out today's practice as the hand, which is not fractured, is bruised and swollen. He apparently also had trouble gripping his stick.

Zuccarello is questionable for tomorrow's game vs. Russia.

…another close call for the Rangers who are absolutely dodging injury bullets in Sochi.

…i said the other day how much I love the NHL players in the Olympics, but all these near misses for the Rangers has me re-thinking that statement.

This morning, I posted about an injury scare for Henrik Lundqvist as Erik Karlsson barrelled into him during practice this morning. Here's a pic of the incident from Puck Daddy

According to the Detroit Free Press’ Helene St. James, Lundqvist skated over to the boards and watched the rest of practice, declining to speak with reporters after it.

A team doctor says Lundqvist is "fine."
