The Rangers have obviously clinched a playoff spot, but there are a number of seeding scenarios still in play for the Blueshirts, who are currently the #2 seed in the Metropolitan Division, tonight.
– A Rangers win of any capacity tonight against the Sabres will secure at least the #3 seed in the Metropolitan Division and avoid the Wild Card.
– A Rangers regulation or overtime win combined with a Flyers regulation loss in Tampa will clinch the #2 seed in the Metropolitan Division and home ice in the first round.
– A Rangers regulation loss combined with a Flyers win in any capacity will drop them to the third seed.
Rangers (93pts) vs. Sabres tonight, at Canadiens on Saturday
Flyers (91 pts) at Lightning on Thursday, at Penguins on Saturday, vs. Hurricanes Sunday
Blue Jackets (91 pts) at Lightning on Friday, at Panthers on Saturday
