I decided to do something a little different with my season recap. I’ve seen The Pens Blog and The Royal Half do tweetcaps of games in which they take random in-game tweets and put them in chronological order to recap the game. So, I figured let’s try this for the Rangers entire season and this is what I came up with…
I understand the Torts firing, but don't like it. I'm not sure his replacement will do any better.
— Torch Ramrod (@torchramrod) May 29, 2013
Torts lost the players. He had to go.
— Greg Pomes (@GregPomes) May 29, 2013
wow, even my mother is happy that Torts got fired
— Andy Saunders (@andythequizzer) May 29, 2013
@BillyMcGrail Torts just got canned… If anything that means our PP immediately got better
— Vitor Yuhara (@VitorYuhara) May 29, 2013
Wow the Rangers decided to add some class to their team for once, getting Alain Vigneault
— Dylan M (@dylan005) June 16, 2013
Kind of getting excited at the hiring of Vigneault…Rangers may be playing a more offensive style of hockey next year…
— Dugo (@ElVerdugo5) June 17, 2013
Good luck to Vigneault. The Rangers are an average team at best that overachieved immensely two seasons ago and lack Vancouver's skill level
— Samar Khan (@SamarSKhan) June 15, 2013
Why would #Rangers interview Messier and then not hire him? Did he take a dump on Sather's desk? Vigneault better win, or fans will revolt.
— Scott Magoloff (@ScottMagoloff) June 15, 2013
lol @ the rangers keeping brad richards
— Nik Castaldi (@NikCastaldi) June 29, 2013
Arniel hates brassard and Nash and we think that won't affect the team
— kenny belvin (@kennybelvin) July 4, 2013
pouliot is on his 5th nhl team since 2009… never lived up to lofty draft status. typical sather reclamation project perhaps?
— Neill Fowler (@NYRblogneill) July 6, 2013
Dominic Moore is back. Forget aboodit
— Danny Yurkins (@BiggDan35) July 5, 2013
Ryan McDonagh gets six more years. Scott Gomez might get six more goals.
— 95Sports (@95Sports) July 8, 2013
thank you rangers, now I can admire hagelin's golden locks for 2 more years
— Chelsea Henderson (@Chelsea_Hend) July 10, 2013
The @NYRangers only decided to skip arbitration with Zuccarello once they realized their only argument was "HE'S SO LITTLE!!!!"
— Scotty Hockey (@ScottyHockey) July 30, 2013
Can we please sign Stepan soon.
— tom hess (@_hess) August 30, 2013
Pre-season starts in a couple weeks, why haven't we signed Stepan yet?
— Nick (@Nico8912) September 3, 2013
Stepan is back…great news. NOW GET BACK TO WORK SO YOU ARE READY FOR THE SEASON TO START. #Newyorkrangers
— John M Edson (@John_Edson16) September 26, 2013
Rangers lost their opener so I guess they will go 0-79-1 or something.
— Nick Cesare (@NCeyzey17) October 4, 2013
Hey, Biron…Hertl just went Marek Malik on your ass…
— Brett Anderson (@MObaseball5) October 9, 2013
I'll take Rick Nash has a concussion for 500 Alex
— Joe Clewell (@BlueShirts10) October 9, 2013
Cant confirm yet but it appears Alain Vigneault translated into english is Bryan Trottier and I hope Im wrong #NYRExtra
— Lorenzo (@screaminlunatic) October 11, 2013
Unfortunately, the Rangers are a harder team to watch than to play right now.
— Kevin (@TheNYRBlog) October 24, 2013
The season is far from over… but man, do the Rangers suck right now.
— Judson (@JudsonK217) October 25, 2013
I actually forgot Stepan even existed
— victoria bruno (@ToriMari3) November 3, 2013
Mats Zuccarello’s play of late has been understated. Ever since his healthy scratch vs. Flyers, he’s flipped the switch.
— James Wrabel, Jr. (@TheWrage) November 13, 2013
Henrik Lundqvist blowing and Cam Talbot playing awesome is making for an interesting decision regarding Hank's contract
— Phil Ragusa (@P_Ragusa) November 26, 2013
That was the weakest goal against Lundqvist I have ever seen!!! Stop thinking about the new contract and start playing!!!
— Rawicz ★ ★ ★ (@Rawicz17) November 28, 2013
I hope Kreider blew Torts a kiss on his way back to the bench after his hat-trick this afternoon. #NYR
— Tommy Ortega (@TMO_NYC) November 30, 2013
Now Henrik Lundqvist can afford to buy the entire country of Sweden and make himself an actual king. That worked out pretty well for him.
— Luke Lapinski (@LukeLapinski) December 5, 2013
Lundqvist was never gonna leave. Now let's see if he can actually bring NY the cup with all that money behind him.
— Courtney Volk (@CourtneyVolk29) December 4, 2013
I reiterate: I do not want to sign Callahan to a 6+ year contract.
— Jared Sexton (@NYRUnlimited) December 11, 2013
At end of presser, Vigneault becomes a little defensive when asked couple times about lineup changes, declares "I'm trying."
— Steve Zipay (@stevezipay) December 10, 2013
Hahahaha pouliot went from healthy scratch to 7 game point scoring streak
— Matt Gutierrez (@mgutierrez_2666) December 30, 2013
Let's make up a random nickname for Pouliot with absolutely no background story or context. Then make it an inside joke. Captain Taco.
— Adam Herman (@Herman_NYRBlog) December 30, 2013
Pyatt on waivers. Guess we're not trading him and Del Zotto for Malkin anymore. #Rangers
— B. Spiegel (@knicks148) January 1, 2014
6-1-1 since the acquisition of carcillo. #carcilloeffect
— Joe Di Leone (@JDiLeone9) January 18, 2014
— Jay Weinberg (@jaywnj) January 13, 2014
Rangers have traded Del Zotto! That's their biggest win of the season! #NYRangers
— Stuart Randall (@stuyrandall) January 23, 2014

Why are the Rangers playing their best hockey all season now? Soon they break for Olympics and they going to suck after they return #lgr
— Jimmy (@Judge_Haunt) February 1, 2014
Brooks reports that the Rangers want a decision on Callahan before he leaves for Sochi Olympics and risks injury. Sather refuses 7 yr deal
— NY Rangers Zone (@NYRangersZone) February 1, 2014
Zuccarello has broken hand. Screw the Olympics. I hate it
— Steven Carollo (@metalsportsfan) February 19, 2014
If we're all guessing on this Callahan return thanks to Boomer Esiason's tweets last night then I'm going with Marty St. Louis.
— Alex Nunn (@aj_ranger) February 23, 2014
What tickles me about fans happy with the Girardi contract is just how many are cooing over "six more years of Landon Girardi!"
— n (@timecity) March 1, 2014
I'm ok with this Callahan/St. Louis trade. Callahan just wanted too much $. He will be missed. St. Louis is still a hell of a player
— Nick Ghanbarian (@nickbayside) March 5, 2014
Don't understand why I keep reading that the @NYRangers are the winners in Callahan / St Louis trade. We lost our captain and heart & soul.
— Creighton (@sensiblemadman) March 5, 2014
That's a great deal for NYR. I never thought they'd deal Callahan, but if someone says here's Marty St. Louis for 1.5 years, take it.
— Dave America Lozo (@DaveLozo) March 5, 2014
Rick Nash wants to fight everyone in his return to Columbus
— Pat Egan (@Pat_Egan) March 22, 2014
Kreider had surgery on his hand? Out indefinitely? Sucks #NYR
— Matty *Go Rangers!* (@snowkitten35) March 28, 2014
If McDonagh is seriously hurt we might as well kiss any chance we had in the playoffs goodbye.
— (@AssholeAl_) April 2, 2014
Devils lose and Rangers clinch a playoff berth. Best back-in ever?
— Michael English (@MFE80) April 8, 2014
Eastern Conference Quarterfinals vs. Flyers

— Flyers Future (@Flyers_Future) April 23, 2014
Perhaps AV should tell Lundqvist that every game is Game 7.
— Steven Panepinto (@pushead2) May 1, 2014
Eastern Conference Semifinals vs. Penguins
Nash booed upon touching the puck. This team is done.
— Sam Mines (@SMines57) May 8, 2014
You can't script Marty St. Louis scoring a goal on Mother's Day for his mother who passed away.
— Erik Miller (@ErikMiller3) May 11, 2014
Lundqvist stopped 102 of 105 shots in the 3-game Ranger rally. Sick.
— Greg Wyshynski (@wyshynski) May 14, 2014
— Sam Friedman (@SamDFriedman) May 14, 2014
Eastern Conference Finals
Of course Kreider went blades first on purpose. Price is the backbone. Any Hab would do the same. Just hope Price isn't hurt.
— Mike Obrand (@MikeObrand) May 17, 2014
It's going to be absurd when Prust gets no more than 5 games for blasting Stepan but Carcillo gets 10 because of an overzealous zebra. #NYR
— Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) May 23, 2014
— Meg Daneja (@stillmegdanger) May 30, 2014
Stanley Cup Finals
Dan Girardi’s going to need a strong, strong drink.
— Dan Devine (@YourManDevine) June 5, 2014
How can you allow that a goal when King is basically riding Lundqvist like a horse?
— Christine Gunn (@ChristineLRM) June 8, 2014
What exactly is Lundqvist the king of? Blowing 2 goal leads?
— Matt (@njmatt18) June 8, 2014
Some people thank God every night for their family and health. I thank God for Henrik Lundqvist.
— NYRPrincess (@NYRPrincess) June 12, 2014
That phantom trip on Zuccarello just clinched the Conn Smythe for the refs if the Kings win the Cup.
