Rangers place Taylor Pyatt on waivers…likely means that Callahan will be ready Fri in Pitt or Sat in Tor

…Happy New Year's Taylor Pyatt, you've been put on waivers. Assuming this is not only music to Rangers fans ears, but to Pyatt's, who couldn't be happy sitting in the press box every night.
…too slow, too soft and zero scoring. I think that pretty much sums up Pyatt's time with the Rangers.
…having said that, he's still a serviceable NHL player in the final year of an affordable contract ($1.55M per), so I'm hopeful a team will claim him and get his salary completely off the Rangers books. If not, it's off to the Wolfpack to join former underachieving teammate Arron Asham.
…now the question is, who replaces Pyatt in the press box? Assuming it's not Miller, because if he was the odd man out, he, not Pyatt, would be headed to Hartford. Richards shoutout goal might have saved him, so the target could be on either Boyle or D. Moore.
