#NYR No supplementary discipline expected for Vancouver's Alex Burrows' hit on Ryan McDonagh last night.

…and this is exactly why the Rangers needed to take care of Burrows last night. The NHL obviously isn’t serious about taking dangerous hits (at least the ones to Rangers players) out of the game, so the Blueshirts need to police themselves.
…so now Burrows has bit a player as well as almost end another’s season with a dirty hit and not even a second of a suspension. Yep, Shanahan and Bettman are being a real deterrent for these kinds of plays. Where’s the motivation for a player not to take a run at an opponent in a vulnerable position? Disgraceful decisions from the NHL such as these are why fighting will always need to be a part of the game because if the players aren’t taking care of each other no one will.
