If you’re a goaltender junkie like I am (have I mentioned I played in high school?), the announcement of new equipment or face mask is always an exciting day. Even more so when it involves the best netminder in the NHL, who’s life outside of hockey revolves around fashion.
So let’s take a look at how much bedazzle DaveArt spread across Henrik Lundqvist’s newest lid…
…i’d definitely say that’s a solid eight on the bedazzled scale.
…as far as the remainder of the mask, I’d say it’s a bit disappointing. Definitely lacking homages to his hometown of Sweden or even the City of New York. Would have liked to see him work in some creative tributes the greatest city in the world. But that’s just me.
Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, Cam Talbot’s full Bill Murray Ghostbusters mask has been released as well…
…i love reading about the confusion fans of other teams have with Talbot’s infatuation with Ghostbusters and how it relates to New York. Ummmm, nothing other than the movie took place entirely in the borough of Manhattan. I don’t want to overstate that movie’s relationship with the Big Apple but they are synonymous with either other.
…while Lundqvist might be the better goaltender and dresser, I’d say Talbot’s got him beat in the face mask artwork category.
