The NHL has announced that John Moore has been suspended two games for a hit to the head on Dale Weise last night.
…since the hit was very similar to Prust’s, assuming the league decided a similar suspension would suffice. While both hits were irresponsible, I still maintain that Prust’s was the more predatory of the two. I disagree with the league that Weise’s head is main point of contact. No different than Prust’s to Stepan. Shoulder to the chest.
…found it interesting that the league didn’t think hit was late, which I thought it was.
In other suspension news, Katie Strang at ESPN.com says that no suspensions are expected for Derek Dorsett’s head-butt or Rene Bourque’s cross check from last night’s game.
…nor should there be.
Meanwhile, Dan Carcillo’s appeal of his 10-game suspension for physically abusing a referee will finally be heard by Gary Bettman on Friday.
…hoping that Carcillo will be re-instated at the hearing meaning his suspension would be the three games should have been from the beginning.
