McIlrath Skates Without Issue

Yesterday, Larry Brooks at the New York Post reports that Dylan McIlrath had no issues after skating for the first time since sustaining a knee injury during a Hartford Wolfpack game on December 21st.

…great news, but once he's ready to return he'll be sent back to Hartford for the remainder of the season. Allen proved just how much more McIlrath needs to develop before he's NHL ready, plus the acquisition of Carcillo makes his toughness that much less necessary.

…while I completely get that the Rangers drafted McIlrath over Fowler in 2010 because Del Zotto was coming off a stellar rookie campaign and was projected to be their power play quarterback of the future, but seeing the young Ducks defenseman chosen as a member of Team USA while McIlrath can't even find a place on the Rangers roster has me thinking Jessiman 2.0 not a potential Beukeboom.
