Accoring to Hartford Wolfpack broadcaster Bob Crawford there's a possibility Dylan McIlrath could play for the Rangers AHL club this weekend for the first time since suffering a knee injury on December 21st.
The last report on McIlrath stated he had been skating on his own without a problem.
…got to admit, I'm officially concerned about McIlrath. Not necessarily because he seemed over matched during his brief cup of coffee with the Rangers last month, but because of the injuries that seem to be mounting.
…whenever you're a tough, physical-minded defenseman, who isn't afraid to drop the gloves, injuries are always a concern and can derail a young prospect's career. I really hope he's able to overcome them the way Beukeboom was before being forced from the game later in his career due to a concussion, but for him to be an effective player he must continue to play a grinding game, which will always leave him vulnerable.
