After starting the season with a brutal 1-7-0 record, Claude Giroux guaranteed his team would make the playoffs. Whelp it looks like the Flyers captain is doubling down as moments after his team lost Game 3 by the score of 4-1 to give the Rangers a 2-1 series last night he said this (via Daily News)…
“We’re going to be ready for Game 4. We’re going to tie up this series and go back to New York.”
…maybe Giroux should stop doing embarrassing Messier impressions and become more worried about why he’s decided to abandon any attempt to score goals in favor of mixing things up after the whistle.
…while I hope it continues, I’m really not sure what the Flyers are trying to prove by having their best offensive forwards play the role of agitators.
…in the three games, Hartnell, Giroux, Simmonds, Lecavalier and Voracek have combined for just two goals (one of which was an empty net) and six assists while accumulating 18 minutes in penalties. Yes, the Flyers top five offensive forwards have combined for more penalties than points in this series.
