ECF Game 1 Likely on Saturday at 1pm

This morning on WFAN’s Boomer & Carton show, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman noted that Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals is likely to start this Saturday, May 17th at 1pm on NBC.

The Rangers would start on the road no matter who wins tonight’s Bruins/Canadiens Game 7 because both teams ended the regular season with more points than the Blueshirts.

…1pm?!?!?!?! You’ve got to be kidding me. I understand they want to get the game on NBC, but scheduling the game in the middle of the day is such an inconvenience. I’m sorry, Saturday hockey has to be at night. There’s a reason they call it “Hockey Night in Canada” instead of “Hockey Afternoon in Canada.” Because Saturday afternoon hockey is stupid.

…sorry if I sound like a whiny bitch, but I have three young kids and as I’m sure you can imagine, Saturday afternoons are sort of a busy time for me.
