Mats Zuccarello, Derick Brassard and Chris Kreider of NYR have filed for salary arbitration. So has Nick Spaling of Penguins.

All three can continue to negotiate with the Rangers on a new contract until their hearing date which will be at the end of July or early August.
…this is actually fantastic news because it means that none of the three will holdout nor can another team submit an offer sheet. Worse case scenario is that these players receive more than Sather wants to give on a one-year deal from the judge and the Rangers GM has less money to play with. If the award is completely egregious in the player’s favor, the Rangers have the right to walk away and that player would become an UFA. Don’t expect that to happen.
