Zuccarello to Meet Rangers in Ottawa; Fast in New York

Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that Mats Zuccarello has taken care of his immigration issues and will meet the Rangers in Ottawa for tomorrow's game.

Zuccarello will still not be able to practice with the Rangers until his KHL release is finalized.

Zuccarello's contract is for one-year, $700,000.

…ummmmm, can we please get an expeditor over to Russia immediately.

…while I'd hate to see Torts change anything up after last night's five goal explosion, if Zuccarello can play, I think he'd fit in nicely on Richards line with Kreider. Boyle actually had a pretty solid game, but offers absolutely nothing offensively. And where else are you putting Zuccarello? The fourth line?

In other European import news, Larry Brooks at the New York Post reports that Jesper Fast flew into New York yesterday and is set to see doctors to take care of his physical either today or tomorrow.

Fast was given permission to come over from the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, and there will be no restrictions on how he can be used.

…i know it's only one game, but with how well the Rangers offense played last night, might be best to just send Fast to the Whale. Similar to what I said about Zuccarello, where exactly would Fast be playing? Would be a waste putting him on the fourth line.
