If the Rangers struggle this season, jet lag cannot be used as an excuse as Dirk Hoag at On the Forecheck tells us that the Blueshirts will travel the fewest miles in the NHL this season (29,839) in his 6th annual "NHL Travel Miles" blog post.
To put that in perspective, the most traveled team, the San Jose Sharks, will travel a whopping 57,612 miles this season. Almost double that of the Rangers.
Meanwhile, Greg Wyshynski at Puck Daddy reports that the Rangers will find themselves on NBC four times this season and NBCSN 12 times.

…and you guys thought re-alignment was a bad thing. Not for the Rangers travel schedule it's not. Now their frequent flyer miles? That's another story.
…no travel and lots of national television exposure. No wonder every high priced, over the hill player wants to come here.
…for today's open thread, I'd love to hear whether you think travel really has that big of an effect on a team's success.
And while I do send a big hardy congrats to the Royal Family on their new baby boy, I think I speak for every Rangers fan when I say "No thanks, we already have our King."
Make sure to leave your congratulatory messages for William and Kate in the comments section before the official unveiling.
Finally, if anyone is interested, Ryan Callahan will be making an appearance at Legends Gallery in Chatham N.J. tomorrow:
