Last night was Benn Ferriero's Rangers debut and he apparently make a good impression on John Tortorella (via Blueshirts United)…
"I really liked his speed and composure, and I think he's got a little jam to him. This is the first I have ever seen him play, and I think he played 12 or 13 minutes, and he deserved to. I thought he played well."
…i felt that Ferriero brought an energy level that the other call ups (Segal and Newbury) didn't. He was tenacious on the forecheck, had a couple of big hits and looked real comfortable out there.
…i'm sure it helped that Ferriero had 92 NHL games under his belt coming in, including playoffs, but he was a pleasant surprise last night for sure. He did some of the dirty work teams need to win in the NHL.
…with Ferriero's play and the Arnott acquisition, there's probably a couple of Ranger players not feeling too confident about their spot in the line-up right now.
