Staal Was Comfortable Last Night

Yes, it was great to see Dominic Moore bury one and John Moore's smooth skating was a treat, but nothing was more important than watching Marc Staal play a confident game last night, which he acknowledged after the game…

"In the back of my mind I was relieved after the first few shifts. You can tell yourself all summer long that you feel good, but to go out there and feel confident, comfortable and seeing everything, I was real happy with it."

Staal added that there was no comparison with how he felt last night and the one game he played in the playoffs last year.

Here's more from Staal…

…big sigh of relief last night. Other than wearing the longest visor in the history of the NHL, Staal didn't look any different. And you have to assume the more he plays, the more comfortable he'll become. Beyond excited to have a healthy Staal on the blueline.

…if Staal doesn't have any setbacks and Moore can continue to develop the Rangers could have themselves one of the best top four defensemen in the NHL.

…now AV just needs to get a little offense out of these guys.
