St. Croix Added to Wolfpack Roster

The Hartford Wolfpack have announced that Michael St. Croix has been added to their roster from its ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Road Warriors.

St. Croix, a fourth-round pick by the Rangers in 2011, has notched one goal and a team-best three assists in Greenville's first two games of the season.

…St. Croix has been a prospect who continues to let me down. His numbers in junior (82 goals the last years) prove he has elite scoring ability, however, when given a chance at the next level, whether it's the Traverse City Tournament or Rangers training camp, he wilts. And to be honest, I hadn't realized he didn't even make the Wolfpack roster out of camp which is a bit discouraging.

…standing at just 5-11, size could obviously be a reason for his lack of success against NHL caliber talent. While a player can get away with a smaller stature against high school kids in the WHL, only the very elite can sustain that moving forward.

…having said that, St. Croix, at just 20-years of age, is still developing and I'm very encouraged by his quick start in the ECHL. Hopefully, he can take some of the confidence he gained with Greenville and use it as a platform to finally showcase his skills in the pro game.
