Richards Returns from Flu

Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that Brad Richards returned to the Rangers training facility after missing the first three days of training camp with the flu. Unfortunately for him, John Tortorella designated today for off-ice workouts and the Rangers alternate captain was forced to take the ice on his own (via NY Rangers)…

Richards doesn't seem concerned about time missed…

“Obviously I would have liked to have been here the last three (days) but there’s only so much you’re going to get out of practicing anyway,” Richards said. “I’m looking forward to what’s going on moving forward this week and getting back on the ice with (them). Last week was a good week. We were on the ice five straight days together. More worried about just getting back out there.

“Just what we’re doing,” Richards added when asked what exactly he did miss. “I don’t know exactly everything was done. It’s just bad timing. I put in a good week last week and got a good base and there’s only a few days to get back on track. The video and all that stuff, I can do that after. You just miss being out there and doing some game situation stuff and working with my linemates, that’s the biggest thing. But like I said in the big scheme of things, three days is probably not going to make a big difference.”

…let's hope the Rangers quarantine of Richards the last three days prevented any of his teammates from getting the flu and missing this weekend's games.
