Rangers Need to Go 8-7-1 in Final 16 Games to Make the Playoffs

Using 52 points as the projected cut-off to make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference, Justin Bourne at the Backhand Shelf says the Rangers need to go 8-7-1 in their final 16 games to make the playoffs.

10 of the Rangers final 16 games are on the road. They also have to play the Penguins, Maple Leafs and Devils twice in those 16 games.

The Rangers play in Ottawa tonight and Montreal on Saturday.

…you would hope the Rangers could manage basically a .500 record the rest of the way, but one look at their remaining schedule and I'm not so sure it's going to be very easy.

…however, if Richards can build on his performance in Philadelphia and Miller can revive Gaborik, a 8-7-1 record should be doable.
