Nash Sent Back to New York; New Lines & D Pairs

According to the Rangers, Rick Nash will not be playing tonight in Anaheim or Saturday in St. Louis and has been sent back to New York.

Steve Zipay at Newsday says he has not been sent home for further evaluations. Just not healthy enough to play.

…this is obviously not a surprise. One positive is that at least he's able to get on a plane. I'm sure every Mets fan remembers the flying issues after Ryan Church's concussion.

With Nash out, here were the new lines during the AM skate…

Pouliot-Richards-Callahan
Boyle-Brassard-Zucarello
Pyatt-Stepan-Fast
Dorsett-D. Moore-Asham

…wholesale line changes?!?!?!?! I thought the Rangers fired Torts?

…in all seriousness, I actually like the diversity on the lines. Great mix of speed (Fast!), size and creativity throughout.

…not sure about Richards back at center after his hot start on the wing. With Nash going down, I guess AV figures he needs to put his veteran center in a better position to make things happen.

AV also made some changes on defense as well…

Staal-Girardi
McDonagh-Stralman
J. Moore-Del Zotto

…as excited as I am about the reunion of Staal-Girardi is how frightened I am about Moore-MDZ.

…btw, what the hell happened to Moore? We were all ready to anoint him the next Brian Leetch this preseason, now I wouldn't be shocked if he's a healthy scratch on Saturday if he struggles again tonight.

Here's some post practice quotes…

…they're talking the talk, now it's time for this team to walk the walk.
