Jeff Klein at the New York Times reports that the injury which held Rick Nash out of last night's game is believed to be related to a groin injury he sustained while playing with HC Davos of the Swiss National League A during the lockout.
Back in December, Nash left his Swiss team to return to New York and get the groin checked out. At the time, it was said not to be serious.
…listen, I'm no doctor nor am I privy to Nash's medical records, but I didn't see any indication that he had issues skating due to a groin injury in the Bruins or Islanders game.
…as I said last night, concussions are tricky. One night you're fine, the next you're not. Again, I don't want to scare anyone or discredit Klein, but I do find it hard to believe it's the groin.
…while most fans are unhappy with Torts staying mum on the injury, I have no problem with him protecting Nash. Why should he let other teams know what is or isn't bothering one of his players. Could use it to their advantage.
