Moore Headed to Press Box?

While Justin Falk allowed an odd man break after getting caught too deep in the Bruins zone on the eventual game winner against last night, it was John Moore who did a horrific job not reading that Mats Zuccarello had negated the two-on-one by catching up to Brad Marchand racing down the center of the ice, allowing Shawn Thornton to skate right in on Henrik Lundqvist and shelf one home short side.

This is just one of a number of defensive miscues coming from the former Blue Jacket recently that have gone virtually unnoticed by the Rangers fanbase who have saved most of their vitriol for Michael Del Zotto.

Well, I guess Alain Vigneault has taken notice as he suggested today that Moore might be headed to the press box tomorrow night in Dallas.

Moore skated with J.T. Miller as the extra defensive pair at practice today while Del Zotto was paired with Falk.

This obviously would mean a return to the lineup for the embattled Del Zotto. Can you say showcase?

…it might have been his great preseason or his two unexpected but impressive fights as a Ranger, but for some reason Moore has quietly escaped the wrath of Rangers fans this season, despite being inconsistent at best.

…i have to assume it's because we've all been preoccupied with Del Zotto's awfulness that Moore's equally inept defense has slipped passed us. However, with Del Zotto banished to the press box the last three games, Moore's struggles have been front and center.

…i still believe the 23-year old has a lot to offer and can be a major contributor for this team, but a few nights watching from the press box might not be the worst thing.

…i'd definitely be a fan of seeing Falk back in there as he continues to bring a physical presence including a bone crushing hit on Lucic early in the first period last night.
