Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that JT Miller (wrist) will likely return to the Rangers line-up in Philadelphia tonight as he was off the ice during the morning skate with the regulars and said he was able to shoot and pass without discomfort.
Henrik Lundqvist will make his eighth straight start.
…with Miller likely back, someone has to come out and I'm going with Pyatt. The fourth line played very well against the Capitals, so I find it highly unlikely Newbury is the healthy scratch, especially with Torts singling out his play recently. The only other candidate is Boyle, but with Halpern gone, his face-off ability is integral.
To back-up my point on Newbury, here's Torts on him this morning…
“The big thing with Newbs, and he brought us energy, a big part of his game is his bite. He’s got to straddle that line and not go over that and not put us down a man. I liked what that fourth line did, I always liked him, he needs to make just make sure he’s got that edge and not cross line and lose discipline.”
…as far as Hank goes, got to ride the man. He made some huge saves against the Caps, especially that one in the final seconds, that allowed the Rangers to at least gain a point.
