Lots of injury news from practice today as Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record says John Moore was given a maintenance day likely to heal the after effects of John Scott's hit on him last night.
…let's hope this is more Derek Stepan maintenance day than Rick Nash maintenance day.
Meanwhile, Gross adds that Derek Dorsett shot pucks for a second straight day and says the injured Ranger will likely have an x-ray on his broken clavicle this week. Here's Dorsett…
“I’ll go for another X-ray I imagine sometime next week and we’ll see how it’s healing and hopefully do some contact stuff. I think as soon as the docs feel the X-rays are cleared up and look solid and I’m not going to re-hurt it, that’s what I’m waiting for, the clearance. I don’t know how (the shoulder) would handle it now. I don’t know how it will handle it in a week.”
Columbus doctors had told Dorsett, who still hasn't been cleared for contact, he'd be out 6-8 weeks and this is week seven.
…if I have to guess, I'd say he'll likely be back for Thursday's game in Carolina.
…earlier today, I speculated Asham or Pyatt will come out of the line-up once Dorsett is healthy, but I completely forgot, probably because he's getting zero ice time while being buried on the fourth line, about Kreider. He'll definitely be on his way back to the Whale. Those other two are likely safe until Boyle is ready to return.
#NYR Marc Staal tried out tinted visor, which cuts out the glare from the lights. No issues. Will continue to wear it next time he skates

…blurred vision. Tinted visors. Dilated pupils. None of this sounds very good to me.
…seriously, how is he supposed to play the fast paced, hard hitting game of hockey with basically one eye? I hate to say it, but maybe shutting him down is the best idea before he further injures himself when he doesn't see an on-coming opponent out of the corner of his eye.
