Lundqvist Fine After Pulling Hamstring, Addresses Cooke’s Antics

During Henirk Lundqvist's save on Evgeni Malkin's shootout attempt it looked like he tweaked a hamstring, which he addressed after the game…

"I think I pulled my hamstring a little bit, but it's fine, I think. I don't know what happened. It just hurt…It felt better after a minute or two, so hopefully it's nothing."

…you never like to hear the word "hamstring" as it's always a tricky injury. When I played hockey, I used to pull my hamstring all the time as a goaltender. Very frustrating. But let's hope it's just a mild strain and Lundqvist will be fine down the stretch.

…might make sense to start Biron tonight for precautionary reasons.

Here's video of the injury (1:10 mark)…

Lundqvist also addressed Matt Cooke's slash to his elbow…

"I don't know what he's doing, seriously. Ridiculous. But it's not the first time, right? That's him being him."

…i'm usually loosing my mind when the Rangers don't stick up for one another, especially for Lundqvist, but I think it's different with Cooke. With him, you have to show discipline, because he's looking for the opposing team to lose their cool and take a stupid penalty. And to the Rangers credit they kept their emotions in check with that moron. I did like Clowe going over to him after the agitators' run in with Nash and the Rangers bench. Probably told him "Get back to the kiddie table, before I give you a smack."

…was very impressed with the fight and toughness from the Rangers when the game started to get chippy. Not sure we would have seen that from this team before the trade deadline.

Here's the rest of Lundqvist's post game interview…
