Lindberg Named SEL Playoff MVP

Alex Nunn at Pro Hockey News reports that Rangers prospect Oscar Lindberg was named MVP of the Swedish Elite League playoffs as his team, Skellefteå, won the championship last night.

In 13 playoff games, Lindberg had 4g, 8a.

…the CT Whale have just two games remaining in their season and they're currently holding on to the eighth and final playoff spot for dear life, so hopefully they can hang on allowing the Rangers to bring Lindberg across the pond to get some North American games under his belt before training camp in September.

…kid looks like a stud, but as always, I'll caution not to get overly excited about a young player coming over from Europe. The transition isn't always easy or immediate.

…this season has been a step back for the Rangers, but seeing a kid like Lindberg coming through the pipeline has me convinced the future of this franchise is still very bright.
