As time was winding down with the Rangers clinging to a 4-3 lead last night, Scottie Upshall began taking liberties with Derek Stepan and apparently Chris Kreider didn't like it…
…absolutely horrific time to take a penalty, but guess what? I don't care. It's about time this team started sticking up for one another. Those are the kind of penalties that Kreider's teammates need to dig down deep and kill off, which they obviously did. It's also the kind of play that shows this team is forming some chemistry and sense of unity. Call me a meat head, but I loved it. I am glad to hear Kreider apologized to his teammates after the game, but I've got a feeling no one on the team needed one.
According to Pro Hockey Talk, Kreider will not be suspended.
…good to here. Just because Kreider is stronger than Upshall doesn't mean he should be penalized additionally for it.
