If you've been a reader of this blog for a while now, you know I'm a huge Sean Avery fan, which is why I'm posting this and will continue to post articles of interest regarding the "Grate One."
So who's the lucky man? Apparently, it's Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" host Andy Cohen.
Here's a quote on the relationship from a mole inside Avery's camp…
"I’m not sure if you are aware or not but Andy Cohen has been dating former NHL star Sean Avery for almost a year and a half now, it will be two years in March. And get this, they are secretly ENGAGED! There have been rumors for years in the NHL league about Sean Avery’s sexuality, but he has always vehemently denied it, Sean even went as far as to “date” a beard girlfriend (Elisha Cuthbert), who he was never even remotely into, to cover up him receiving backlash from his NHL teammates and internally in the NHL for being gay."
Rucuss.com added that the two were together in Southampton for the Labor Day weekend.
According to a New York Magazine interview with Avery and Cohen from 2011 they've had a long standing "bromance."
…if this news is true, I'm assuming no one is going to be shocked given Avery's love of fashion and support of gay rights. Not that there's anything wrong with it. And to be honest, good for him. It must have been torture having to live a lie his entire life. I almost wish he would have stayed in the game and came out as a player to make a huge statement.
…now having said that, we all know Avery and I'd almost be more apt to think this is a huge ruse created by him. Either way, I'm definitely interested in how this plays out.
…assuming this means Phaneuf didn't actually have Avery's "sloppy seconds."
