I Think Brassard Enjoys Playing in New York

The only thing better than a Derek Brassard goal is his celebration.

The guy is absolutely taking advantage of his new lease on life in New York and loving every minute of it.

Here's Brassard, who was named the first star of Game 3, after his 1g, 2a night (via Blueshirts United)…

“Tonight was pretty much do or die for us, but the guys really competed hard for 60 minutes; now with a win we are 2-2 in the series. Just the fact we came back in our building helped a lot. we had some fun tonight.”

Here's video of Brassard's first career playoff goal…

Brassard now has 6g, 8a in 16 games (13 regular season & 3 postseason) since being traded to the Rangers after tallying just 7g, 11a in 34 games with Columbus this season.

…it's a very small sample size but Brassard is looking like the poster boy for a guy who needed a change of scenery. He finally has the appearance of a 6th overall pick.

…has easily passed Richards as the Rangers best playmaking center.

…if he continues to display the passion and emotion we've witnessed so far he will fully be embraced by the city of New York.
