Callahan May Not Be Out of the Woods

After hearing the news that Ryan Callahan will only miss 10 – 14 days with a shoulder subluxation, Rangers Nation exploded into obvious rejoice. However, there was one person who sent out a word of caution…

…geez, thanks for the buzzkill Carp.

…in all seriousness, Carp is 100% correct to be concerned. After the news broke I had numerous readers, who had suffered the same injury, contact me stating that a shoulder subluxation isn't anything to sneeze at and surgery could still be a real possibility as this kind of affliction could worsen over time, especially if Callahan returns too soon or takes a nasty hit to the same area.

…now obviously there are varying degrees of shoulder subluxations, so it doesn't automatically mean Callahan will have recurring issues. But from the way he reacted after Talbot wrenched his arm, I'm going to hold off on any further celebrations of yesterday's news until the Rangers captain is back on the ice hitting everything that moves.
