Bruins 2, Rangers 1

The New York Rangers (10-11-0) lost to the Boston Bruins by the score of 2-1, tonight. For a box score, go to Yahoo! Sports.

…Jesus Christ, this team finishes less than a 90-year old, impotent eunuch. Having said that, I couldn't have been happier with the effort as I thought they outplayed the Bruins for most of the game and hung with them physically, but the difference was that Boston buried their chances, while the Rangers didn't.

…i don't want to hear any of this garbage about Lundqvist not getting the job done. The guy has given up THREE goals the last two games and has nothing to show for it. I do think, however, Talbot should get the start in Dallas on Thursday. And God help us if the Rangers win that game, because every Blueshirt fan will be begging Sather to trade Lundqvist.

…man, Nash can create some offense, huh? His shot was a bit rusty, but the rest of his game looked real smooth.

…i have two words for Kreider: Shooter Tutor.

…when Brassard decides to actually shoot the puck, he's not a bad player. Hopefully Zuccarello was paying attention.

…great call going with Pouliot over Miller tonight, AV.

…it's too bad Dorsett had a St. Louis relapse in the second period as he's been looking like Prust light recently.

…what happened to that Hagelin guy who tore it up after coming off the IR? The Rangers need him back.

…Falk's lack of speed was exposed big time on that Thornton goal. Although, if J. Moore actually defended it properly it probably wouldn't have ended up in the back of the net. I still like his physicality, but I've got to think Del Zotto is back in the lineup in Dallas.

…stat of the day: Girardi is averaging less than two blocked shots a game.

…tepid applause for Nash return and Bronx cheer for Lundqvist. The Garden has officially become embarrassing.

…while the Rangers have now lost three of their last four, scoring just four goals combined in those games, I really don't think they're playing all that poorly. The defense isn't giving up much and the offense is generating chances. You have to assume the puck will eventually start finding the back of the net. Right?

…off tomorrow then in Dallas on Thursday to start a five game road trip.

Bruins 2, Rangers 1

The New York Rangers lost to the Boston Bruins by the score of 2-1, tonight. The Bruins now lead the series 3-0. For a box score visit Yahoo! Sports.

…in a game that the Rangers had to have, it just wasn't enough. Not enough offense. Not enough defense. Not enough toughness. Not enough forecheck. Not enough passion. Not enough jam. Which is absolutely unacceptable in a contest of this magnitude.

…yeah great, Nash tries hard and gives a good effort. Whatever. He was brought in here to score and with eight minutes to go in the third period he had the game on his stick he couldn't deliver. And if that wasn't enough, the hockey gods gave him a chance to redeem himself with a golden opportunity to tie it late and he buried it right into Rask who didn't even have to move.

…i love Hank and he can stop the puck with the best of them, but he could be the worst puck handling goaltender in the history of the NHL. He is completely at fault for the Bruins first goal. Having said that, the Rangers don't even have the lead at that point without him.

…tough break for Kreider with the high stick, as he was real noticeable when Torts put him on a line with Brassard and Nash. Too bad Torts didn't think of that combination earlier in the playoffs.

…Zuccarello looking more like the guy who played for the Rangers the last two years instead of the one from the last two months.

…kudos to Dorsett for at least attempting to stir things up. Not sure I can remember a playoff series with less nastiness than this one.

…on that note, has Asham been a healthy scratch in this series? Boyle also. Don't think I've heard his name once during the broadcast of any games in this series.

…you mean, if you put a guy in front of the net, you can like score and stuff. No idea how the Rangers can see the Pyatt goal and not send a guy to the crease for the rest of the game.

…always fun to watch Stralman get squashed up against the glass like a bug by Lucic and absolutely no response. If he can't go in Game 4 could it be a return of Hamrtime? If so, the Rangers might as well just forfeit.

…in the words of Pierre McGuire, the Rangers power play is "UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!"

…in Game 3 of the Rangers Eastern Conference Semi-Finals against the Capitals last season, Brad Richards set up Gaborik's triple overtime winner while playing almost 40 minutes. Tonight pointless while playing just eight minutes. Seriously, what the eff happened to this guy?

…was hoping MSG would spook the young Bruins defensemen, instead it sounded like church inside MSG.

…did the NHL take high sticking out of the rule book before tonight's game?

…on a positive note, at least Girardi wasn't on the ice for five goals against.

…let's face it, the Bruins are just a better team. They're faster, tougher and deeper. And right now Torts and the Rangers have no answers.

…it was just two years ago that the Bruins blew a 3-0 series lead to the Flyers, so at least there's that. Ah, who am I kidding, put a fork in this team, they're done.

Bruins 2, Rangers 1

The New York Rangers (50-22-7) lost to the Boston Bruins (47-28-4) by the score of 2-1, tonight. For a box score and recap go to Yahoo! Sports.

…while I’m far from being concerned about this team after the loss, they’ve had very few wins against quality opponents recently. With Flyers, Pens and Caps left on the schedule, I’d like to see them get at least two wins to wrap up the season.

…what a cruel April Fools joke for Rangers fans with the Blueshirts not getting the one point needed to clinch the #1 seed.

…two weeks ago, Lundqvist was a lock for the Vezina, not so sure anymore.

…assuming Thomas didn’t complain about the MSG lighting after this one.

…Dubinsky has been virtually invisible this season, but he was extra invisible tonight.

…speaking of invisible, except for the line brawl against the Devils, when was the last time you noticed Prust during a game?

…it’s almost not fair when Gaborik uses his quick release on a breakaway. Congrats on #40.

…FIVE shots on goal for Staal.

…after a few games of power play success, right back to being awful again.

…Boyle is seriously becoming one of my favorite players. Loved him getting in Chara’s face.

…Bruins doubled up the Rangers on faceoff wins 32-16.

…off tomorrow then in Philly.
