Whale Sweep Bridgeport to Advance

The CT Whale defeated the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (Islanders) 4-3 in overtime to sweep the best of five series 3-0 and advance in the AHL playoffs.

In the series, the Whale were led by Marek Hrivik (who?), 4 goals, and Ryan Bourque, 2g, 1a.

Top prospects J.T. Miller (2011 – 1st) and Christian Thomas (2010 – 2nd) were held scoreless in the series.

Hrivik is an undrafted free agent who the Whale signed to an amateur tryout agreement at the end of March. For more on Hrivik click here.

Here’s Game 3 highlights…

…maybe the Rangers should bring this Hrivik kid up for tonight’s game. At least he can score in the playoffs, unlike many current Rangers players.

…great play by a certain overpaid, veteran defenseman on the overtime winner.
