Sean Leahy at Puck Daddy reports that while taking part in a race at the Automotodróm Slovakia Ring motor circuit, Islanders defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky crashed his Ferrari into a barrier head on, destroying the front of the car.
According to the Islanders, Visnovsky did not suffer any serious injuries.
Visnovsky is currently attempting to block a trade to the New York Islanders, claiming that the Anaheim Ducks essentially ignored his no-trade clause.
Larry Brooks at the New York Post reports that Visnovsky’s NHL arbitratiion court date has been scheduled for Sept. 4th.
…Visnovsky must have heard that he has no chance of winning his arbitration hearing and decided he’d rather kill himself than play for the Islanders.
…man, it must be tough being an Islanders fan.
