Elliotte Friedman at CBC reports that after the Chris Kreider signing John Tortorella asked the team to trust the organization’s decision to bring the highly regarded prospect in so late in the season, knowing it could upset chemistry.
…great move by Torts putting out a potential fire before it starts. I’m sure there are plenty of veterans who feel a player has to pay their dues, but this kid is too important to the success of the Rangers franchise now and long term. And Tortorella recognized that.
…although, with the way Kreider has played and conducted himself off the ice, not sure there are too many guys in that locker room who needed Torts to convince them.
