Torts Talks Game 7, Kreider & More

Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record was on a conference call with John Tortorella today and reports these quotes…

On Game 7…

“I have a ton of optimism in our club. Our club has gone through a lot of different things. I have nothing but optimism in our club.”

…despite all my vitriol today, I’m with Torts. I think this team has stared adversity in the face all season and laughed at it. So I do feel good going into the game. Just have to hope the Rangers figure out they need to send bodies to the net and make life miserable for Holtby. Big time guys on the Rangers need to step-up again.

…a little snarl would be nice as well.

On Chris Kreider…

“He’s a young man trying to learn the game. I think he’s improving and we’ll see where it goes.”

…it better go to him getting major minutes on a line with Callahan and Stepan.

…i don’t expect Kreider to dominate and he will make defensive mistakes, but the season is on the line and there’s no time for learning. Just put him out there and let him use his God given talent.

Speaking of the sluggish offense…

“We’ve discussed that as a team, we’ll keep that in the locker room. We’ve discussed that in our locker room and we’ll keep it in the locker room.”

…let’s hope that discussion included how not to hit Holtby in the chest anymore.
