Spector: Nash Will Not Equal Dubinsky/Anisimov Combined Point Total

Jesse Spector at the Sporting News tries to predict Rick Nash’s point total in comparison to the combined points of Brandon Dubinsky and Artem Anisimov…

“However the Rangers draw it up, Nash should have plenty of points, probably more than the 59 he got last season (assuming that it’s a full season). Dubinsky and Anisimov, in down years, combined for 70 points last season, and should see much more ice time in Columbus. Don’t look for Nash to match their combined total in 2012-13.”

…going to have to agree with Spector here, because even if Nash puts up a monster year of 40g, 30a, it still only equals Dubinsky and Anisimov’s combined total last year. And Dubinsky’s struggles last season were well documented.

…still doesn’t mean it’s a bad trade as the Rangers are expecting Kreider to make up the difference and even if he has an average season (20g, 20a), the combined 110 points between the two Ranger snipers should be far and away more than the two former Blueshirts.
