Chris Peters at United States of Hockey reports that while Brady Skjei (2012 – 1st) had some nice moments during the USA World Junior team's 3-2 overtime exhibition game win over Sweden, he doesn't think the Rangers 2012 first round pick did enough to secure him a spot on the final roster…
"Skjei got a lot of time early in this game and I think he needed it to prove he’s ready for this tournament. I think he had some questionable decisions in his own zone, but as the game kept moving along he seemed to get better. When he was skating in open ice and using his strengths, he looked just fine, but I don’t know if he did enough today to move himself off the bubble. The big question for Skjei right now is, is he ready for this tournament? He has another year of eligibility and while experience this year would be good, I’m uncertain it’s his time just yet."
…while it would be a major disappointment for Skjei not to make the final roster, he's still one of the younger guys (18-years old) on the current roster and will likely have a spot waiting for him on next year's squad.
J.T. Miller did not play.
