Richards Scared for the Game

Yesterday, Brad Richards gave Katie Strang at ESPN.com some pretty candid thoughts on the lockout…

"We're scared for the game. That's the biggest thing. Where is the game going to be if this keeps going? I'm not too optimistic about it. There has to be a negotiation. There hasn't been yet."

Richards added that the union's membership has discussed the possibility of decertification but still needs to learn more about the potential ramifications…

"It's been discussed, but there are so many details that we as players have to learn about. That takes time. Just because it's a popular word right now, it doesn't mean we're absolutely doing it."

…i keep wanting to believe that there's going to be a season. Then I see something like this and it brings me right back down to reality. This ain't happening folks.

…these are easily the most deflating comments I've seen about the situation.

And for those of you delusional enough to think this will be over soon, Henrik Lundqvist bolting back to Sweden immediately after the Hurricane Sandy charity game pretty much tells us he has no confidence an agreement is imminent…
