Rangers Notified Kreider Not Coming Back

kreiderbcLarry Brooks at the New York Post reports the Rangers have been notified that 2009 first round pick Chris Kreider has made the irrevocable decision to return to Boston College for his junior season.

…this isn’t really news as I haven’t seen one report or statement from Kreider that has said otherwise. Although, I do think there will still be a big push from the organization to get him signed during prospects camp at the end of the month.

Brooks also notes that the Blueshirts are all but certain to file for salary arbitration against one of their eligible impending Group II free agents as a mechanism to trigger a second buyout period in August.

…so that means if the Rangers don’t buyout Drury, Wolski or Avery during the June 15-30 buyout period it doesn’t mean they still won’t be gone.
