Rangers 5, Bruins 3

The New York Rangers (43-32-5) defeated the Boston Bruins (44-24-11) by the score of 5-3, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

…we’ve said it all year, this team refuses to give up and with the season on the line they showed the entire league what Rangers hockey is all about. Couldn’t be more proud to be a Blueshirts fans.

…can’t remember a goal that’s ever given a team the spark that Prospal’s first goal did. The Rangers looked like they had nothing left after an emotional win over the Flyers last night but that goal jolted life into the team and into the Garden.

…Wolski-Stepan-Prospal. Who knew?

…to me the plays made before the Rangers goals were more impressive than the actual goals. Staal made a ridiculous play at the line to keep the puck in on the first goal, then Stepan beat his man to the puck on the second and on the third and fourth goals Callahan and Boyle just outworked the Bruins.

…remind me again why Sauer isn’t in Calder talks?

…just a huge goal for Dubinsky who is someone that I’m hoping will make the next step in his career to become a leader on and off the ice.

…and as always the rock in between the pipes closes the door allowing his teammates to make a run. Best part of the night was when Lundqvist skated over to the bench all pumped up after Stepan’s empty netter. Got me fired up.

…now that was MSG. Haven’t heared the crowd that loud in years.

…how about Girardi, Callahan and Boyle risking life and limb jumping in front of Chara shot after Chara shot.

…tough night for McDonagh. But I think it will be a great learning experience for him down the road.

…a +4 for Staal a night after playing 34 minutes.

…off until Thursday when the Thrashers are in town.
