Rangers 3, Stars 2, SO

The New York Rangers (24-15-3) defeated the Dallas Stars (24-13-5) by the score of 3-2 in a shootout, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

…now that is a statement win on the road against one of the best teams in the league. Really an exciting time to be a Rangers fan.

…how many of you ordered a MZA jersey after that shootout move? Nasty.

…Sather gets a lot of crap but you’ve got to give him credit for bringing Fedotenko in this offseason. He’s been awesome and if the Rangers are lucky enough to make the playoffs will really show us his worth.

…McD looked real nervous out there tonight. Got caught behind the net on the first goal, but that was more Hank’s fault for missing the puck. Great experience for the kid against a tough Dallas team.

…Lundqvist (two straight games with an assist) is now on pace to have more points this season than Frolov. Oh yeah, he was pretty good in net too.

…how good were the Rangers defensemen tonight? From Staal to Sauer they played an outstanding game limiting Richards and Eriksson to just an assist. Both Staal and Girardi 30+ minutes.

…Anisimov has officially put his slump of last month behind him.

…might be time to send Gaborik down to the Whale to gain some confidence? ;)

…was expecting Avery to have more of an impact tonight. Getting only 11 minutes may have been the reason.

…another shorty as the Rangers now lead the league with nine. Can’t stress how much momentum those can bring a team.

…despite all the great vibes, another horrendous night in the face-off circle (21-for-57).

…lots of mixing and matching tonight by Torts. Wonder how the players feel about that.

…Torts using Drury the way Team USA did in Olympics last year. Less ice time, but important pk minutes. Seems to be working with a +1 tonight.

…more penalty minutes (5) than ice time (2:53) for Weise tonight.

…Rangers right back at it tomorrow night in St. Louis. Oh Baby!!!
