Rangers 3, Sharks 2, SO

The New York Rangers (36-30-4) defeated the San Jose Sharks (39-22-8) by the score of 3-2 in a shootout, last night. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

…i guess Avery was the problem? Seriously, huge win for the Rangers. I was concerned going into the game, but as has been the case all year they never stop working and beat a tough Sharks team in their barn.

…don’t want to overstate things but Dubinsky’s shootout goal was as clutch as Jokinen’s miss last year was unclutch.

…why isn’t Sauer in any Calder talks?

…i was joking about Avery above, but you have to give Torts credit for making the right move going with Christensen. I hate to say it but he’s got to come right back with the same lineup on Tuesday against the Islanders.

…less than eight minutes for MZA. Assuming that’s going to happen from time to time with a young player still trying to learn the NHL game.

…Wolski’s shootout goal reminded me of Strudwick’s back in 2005 that set the stage for Malik’s between the legs winner.

…no way Lundqvist was going to be denied tonight. Was it just me or was he wearing a new mask?

…another horrific game from the officials.

…off today and tomorrow then the resurgent Islanders are at MSG.
