…now that’s how you end a seven game overtime playoff losing streak. Not sure how those guys where standing at the end, I’m completely drained and all I did was sit on my fat ass the entire game. That is until the game winner when I nearly jumped through the roof. Usually those kind of games are decided by a flukey goal by an unexpected player, but this one was decided by one of the league’s top goal scores on a gorgeous feed from one of the top playmakers.
…let’s hope this goal gets Gaborik going again.
…Brian Boyle better have given Gaborik the biggest hug after this one for getting him off the hook for blocking what should have been Rupp’s game winner in the second overtime.
…there aren’t words in the english language that describe the efforts of Callahan, McDonagh and Girardi tonight.
…that’s a goaltending performance Lundqvist had yet to produce in his career. And he’s had an amazing career.
…that play is why Richards was brought in here.
…you almost had to feel bad for Bickel who was forced to sit there and watch his teammates spend every ounce of energy they had while he just sat there and watched. If Torts doesn’t have faith in him, Eminger has to be in the line-up for Game 4. Although with the way Stralman played tonight, Eminger might be in there anyway.
…Rangers need to ride the emotion of this win into Game 4 and bury this Capitals team who should be down going into the game.
…shocked that Kreider or Hagelin didn’t get the winner, as they were outskating everyone to the puck during overtime.
…unexpected solid game from Mitchell who could have made the play of the game with his tremendous block just minutes before Gaborik’s game winner.
…combined 81 blocked shots tonight. Good thing Wolski isn’t still on the Rangers hogging the tub after this one.
…nice to see the power play get one tonight, but still a disappointing performance after failing on two overtime chances.
…thankfully for the players, Game 4 isn’t until Saturday.
Here’s video of Gaborik’s winner…
