Practice Notes: Dubinsky on Crutches; Boyle Progressing

Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that Brandon Dubinsky (lower body) was not on the ice for today’s optional practice, but was seen  slowly getting around the Rangers’ practice facility on crutches.

…in previous years, the possibility of losing Dubinsky long term would be a scary thought, but, to be honest, I don’t think it would have that negative an affect on this team. Very similar to the Mets losing Jason Bay and Mike Pelfry to injury.

In some positive injury news Bran Boyle was on the ice today and is recovering nicely from his concussion…

“I feel better each day but I don’t know what’s going to happen,” Boyle said. “There have been no setbacks, it’s progressed. But it’s not consistent with each guy, there are different symptoms. I’m trying to be honest with myself.”

…concussions are always tricky, so I’m not ready to pencil Boyle back in the line-up yet, but if he does return tomorrow night it would be a huge lift for this team.

…obviously Boyle would take Eminger’s spot in the line-up.
