Lightning 2, Rangers 1, OT

The New York Rangers (22-14-3) lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning (23-11-5) by the score of 2-1 in overtime, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

…losing in OT is never fun, especially after tying it up in the final seconds, but getting a point in Tampa after sleepwalking through most of the game is something to be happy about.

…man Gaborik needed that goal. Looked like another lost game for him until he stepped up for one of the few times this season. Let’s hope this gets him going.

…Gilroy can’t let that pass get through him on the game winner. Thought he played a solid game up to that point and hope Torts doesn’t send him back to the press box because of that one play.

…lots of talk about Rozy possibly being a future healthy scratch, but I thought he actually played a good game which should clinch another seat in the press box for Del Zotto tomorrow.

…Hank being Hank again.

…another brutal night in the faceoff circle. Culminated by Stepan (3-for-9) losing the opening face-off in OT leading to the winner.

…i’m usually a big Dominic Moore fan, but I’m glad the Rangers pummeled him tonight.

…Torts continues to waste Avery on the fourth line. Rangers have absolutely nothing going all game and the one player who can turn that around gets just 6:10 of ice time.

…while Desjardins had a solid game, the Rangers had no traffic in front and needed to shoot high on a goaltender who seemed to go down on every shot.

…great job by Staal and Girardi keeping Stamkos and St. Louis off the score sheet.

…right back at it tomorrow against the Panthers.
