Kreider’s Success Very Rare

Katie Strang at ESPN NY has this quote from Gordie Clark on the Rangers decision process on signing Kreider for the playoffs…

“We really believed we were going to need him in this playoffs. It’s a war of attrition. If somebody in this group gets hurt, we think Chris is going to be the next guy.

“That was good enough for [general manager Glen Sather] and good enough for Torts.”

…it truly is amazing that in just seven NHL games he’s now being counted on by the Rangers to produce offense. To me, the next move for Torts with Kreider is to get him on the power play which is in desperate need of a spark.
