Kreider Showcases Skill During Day 2 of CT Whale Camp

Jim Cerny at reports that for the second day in a row Chris Kreider was a standout performer at CT Whale training camp…

"The White Team pulled even at 2:07 of the second period when Tanski—who notched five goals with the Whale a year ago and who is in camp on a tryout—deflected a point shot past Rank. White pulled ahead to stay at 13:43 when Chris Kreider zipped a snap shot past Rank on a penalty shot."

Kreider's superior skating skills were also on display…

"Showcasing his speed, Kreider caught up to Jordie Johnston and denied Johnston a shot during a penalty shot sequence late in the scrimmage. Johnston had a head start at the blueline, but Kreider caught him before Johnston had even reached the bottom of the circles."

…sort of embarrassing for Johnston, but that must have been amazing to watch.

Dave Maloney described Kreider's Day 2 performance…

"(Kreider) wants to play at a higher level than anyone else…he just loves playing hockey."

…these reports on Kreider from camp are bitter sweet, as it's completely frustrating that Kreider is doing this at Whale camp instead of Rangers camp.

Marek Hrvik also impressed today using his big body to help nudge home a loose puck to seal the 3-1 victory for his team.

…Hrivik is the Rangers sleeper prospect for sure.
