The Rangers power play was 0 for 5 on Saturday, and is currently in an 0 for 9 slump, but John Tortorella feels Mats Zuccarello has sparked the man-up unit (via Bergen Record)…
“When you’re on a power play, the way we judge it, this is our movement with and without it and are generating momentum within the game and we certainly did. Zucc has really added with his shot and his creativity and his movement with out it, he’s really sparked us there.”
…i don’t want to hate on Zuccarello because I do feel he’s been good since his recall, but c’mon Torts you can’t say someone has given the power play a spark when your team is 0 for their last nine with the man advantage.
…and Torts has got to be kidding me taking Boyle off the power play again (the real reason the Rangers scored three power play goals against the Islanders). Park that big body in front of Brodeur tonight (ala Avery Rule style) and fire away.
