Grading the Rangers

Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants gives out his first half grades. Here’s what he thinks of Brandon Prust…

Brandon Prust – Spoiler alert, the gritty right wing is receiving the only full A among these 24 grades. Why Prust? Because, among the Rangers, Prust does the most to not only live up to his full potential, but probably exceed it. Remember, this was a throw-in to the Olli Jokinen deall who was playing 3-4 minutes with the Flames. In less than a calendar year, Prust, known essentially as a fighter before coming to the Rangers, has become one of Tortorella’s so-called young core. Nobody defends his teammates better. But Prust is a key reason his line with Boyle and Fedotenko has been the team’s most consistent throughout the season. Prust gets to the net, he gets to the corners, he defends, he can be trusted in the game’s final minutes. A.

…great job by Gross. Very thorough report card.

…don’t expect one of these report cards from me, Way too many of them out there and it becomes repetitive.
