Flyers Fan Sentenced to House Arrest in Beating of Rangers Fan

Mensah Dean at Philly.com reports that Flyers fan Dennis Veteri was sentenced to 11 1/2 to 23 months of house arrest on Friday followed by five years of probation for the Jan. 2 beating of Rangers fan Neal Auricchio, a cop and veteran, at Geno's Steaks in Philadelphia after the Winter Classic.

Auricchio said the "unfortunate incident" put him out of work for two months but his vision is improving.

…and the American legal system embarrasses themselves again. You wonder why there's so much violent crime in this country. Break someone's face and your punishment is sitting at home watching television. Get caught with a dime bag of marijuana and you're in jail for ten years. Makes sense.
